SHUAIBA INDUSTRIAL CO. K.S.C. OBTAINS HACCP CERTIFICATE
Shuaiba Industrial Co. K.S.C. is the first food paper packaging manufacturing in Kuwait to be rewarded for its efforts in the field of quality and food safety.
The Certification Council of Det Norske Veritas (DNV) has awarded the HACCP certificate for manufacturing and supplying paper packaging material for food industry to Shuaiba Paper Products Co. K.S.C. This makes Shuaiba Industrial Co. K.S.C. the Kuwait's first paper converting company to obtain this certification. The HACCP certificate is the recognition of the product safety that has always driven to guarantee a safe food product to the consumer.
HACCP is the abbreviation of "Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points". The main purpose of HACCP is the optimization of the quality management system. It specifies strict regulations for all company processes from the purchase of the different components to product sales.
The development of a HACCP system, emphasizing the security of the consumer, was a long and intensive procedure for Shuaiba Industrial Co. K.S.C. The company has evaluated thoroughly the production process of the food paper packaging materials. Each phase of the production process was reviewed to know its critical points and to eliminate or reduce possible dangers to an acceptable level. Every significant risk was submitted to specific measures, that are continually followed up.

As a responsible company in the food safety, Shuaiba Industrial Co. K.S.C. has permanently taken initiatives concerning quality and the safety of the products. As such, the HACCP system is only the core of all efforts undertaken in this field.
As already an ISO 9001:2008 company, continuous product surveillance in all states of the production process is currently being integrated into the central operating system. Starting point is the proposition that products have to meet certain requirements before they are released to the next step. These steps are kept under close surveillance to guarantee the safety of the whole process.
There is also a strong focus on the control of the supplied components. More specifically: paper, ink, and glue. In collaboration with an acknowledged laboratory, far-reaching periodical analyses are carried out to ensure product safety. The essential components are systematically submitted to analyses that become always stricter, as it is obvious that these components play an essential role in the quality of the final products.
